I've read Life of Pi and Stiff, they're both very good (although Life of Pi starts out a bit slow if I remember correctly.) I'm guessing you choose Stiff to read first, just a hunch.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is also a great read.
I've read the Curious Incident of the Dog in the NT---LOVED IT.
